About Me
Claire McGroarty
Specialist in Neuromuscular and Oncology Massage
My journey into therapeutic bodywork began in 2006 in Philadelphia, where I first trained in massage therapy and completed a specialist ten-session programme in Basic Neuromuscular Integration. This foundational training sparked my lifelong interest in postural correction and long-term movement change.
Since returning to Donegal in 2008, I have dedicated my career to evidence-informed practice. I furthered my expertise in Neuromuscular Physical Therapy at the National Training Centre (NTC) in Dublin, ensuring my approach is rooted in the latest clinical research.
After opening my private practice in Mountcharles in 2014 and managing The Treatment Rooms at Harvey’s Point Hotel, I developed a deep commitment to supporting those living with cancer. This led me to pursue advanced specialist training in Oncology Massage at the OBUS School of Healing Therapies in Leixlip. In 2023, I was privileged to train with Gayle MacDonald, a world-renowned pioneer in the field.
Today, my practice is a space for recovery and relief. Whether you are managing chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or seeking carefully adapted care during or after oncology treatment, my goal is to provide a treatment that is safe, thoughtful, and effective
Who We Treat
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) bridges the gap between clinical massage and physical therapy, focusing on the nervous system’s influence on muscle function.
The Benefit Spectrum
Athletes: Optimizes performance by correcting biomechanical imbalances, accelerating recovery from overuse injuries (like tendonitis), and preventing strains by releasing chronic trigger points.
Chronic Pain Sufferers: Resolves long-term issues like sciatica, carpal tunnel, and migraines by addressing nerve entrapment and postural distortions rather than just masking symptoms.
Cancer Patients: Provides critical supportive care by mitigating treatment side effects. It helps combat muscle wasting, reduces radiation-induced fibrosis (scarring), and can lower the incidence of chemotherapy-induced neuropathy.
